Shane is a Senior Associate employment lawyer at Monkhouse Law. Shane received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and is a barrister and solicitor, licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. During law school, Shane was actively involved in mooting competitions as well as student organisations, notably as a founding member of the Osgoode Hall Chess Club.
Prior to joining Monkhouse Law, Shane articled at an employment law firm in Toronto where he assisted clients with numerous and diverse workplace issues. He has worked on behalf of both employees and employers. Shane attended hearings before federal tribunals such as the Canada Industrial Relations Board. He has successfully negotiated enhanced separation packages for dismissed employees in a variety of circumstances.
Outside of work, Shane enjoys chess, movies, live music, and a good joke. He can be found out on a long walk or in front of his TV, watching a Raptors basketball game.

S. v. 2554318 Ontario Ltd. o/a Tax Mechanic, 2025 ONSC 6478: The Ontario Superior Court of Justice awarded over $63,000 to a wrongfully dismissed employee after the employer ignored deadlines, failed to defend the claim, and attempted a last-minute delay.
