Spectrum Event Medical Services Class Action

On July 29, 2020, Monkhouse Law and Ross & McBride LLP started a proposed class action against Spectrum Event Medical Services (GP) inc. (herein “SEMS”) for wages as a result of the misclassification of paramedics as independent contractors rather than employees.

On May 27, 2021, the parties reached a settlement agreement in the matter. Spectrum has denied all liability. On August 23, 2021, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice has approved the parties’ settlement in this class action.
